Welcome to How Can You Sing Better? My name is Nicole and you can read a bit more about me and my musical background here. I’m hoping that you’re here because you want to know whether or not it’s possible for you to sing better, and if so, how you can go about improving your voice.
The good news is that after almost 30 years of musical experience, I can put my hand on my heart and say that I absolutely believe the following two things:
- Every person has the ability to sing.
- Most people have the capacity to significantly improve their singing voice.
You’ll notice I said that every person can sing, but only most people can improve their singing. I’ll be up front and say right now, there are a two groups of people who cannot improve their voice – the first group for physiological or neurological reasons (for example, dysmusia sufferers who cannot discriminate between musical notes of different pitch), and the second group for having no desire or inclination to want to learn how to sing better.
What this means is that if you have a willingness to learn, and the discipline to practice, odds are that your singing voice can be improved quite phenomenally. Even dedicating just 10 minutes every day is enough to get you on the road to improving your voice and singing better.
I have created this web site as a result of my experience as a singer, musician and music teacher, and I hope to share with you some of the things I’ve learned along the way. I hope the information on this site will help to motivate and assist pro-active singers who truly want to sing better.
If you’re serious about improving your voice, I’d also strongly suggest that you consider a singing instruction program as a highly effective alternative to formal, face-to-face lessons, (which are an expense that most people struggle to afford on a weekly basis). An at-home study program allows you to learn at your own pace whenever and wherever you want, and having the ability to review lessons over and over again is exactly what student singers need – there’s no truer phrase in singing than ‘practice makes perfect’!
As long as we live, there is never enough singing. ~Martin Luther

Hi Nicole
Really good advice.
I also firmly believe that anyone can learn to sing if they really want to. The best advice I can give students is to really focus on developing their OWN voice.
So many young students want to quickly imitate their idols and that can be dangerous. Find a good voice teacher (or program as you suggest) and get into the habit of practicing regularly – it’s a physical journey
Kind regards
